Needham is home to a vibrant performing arts community, but our current auditorium spaces are inadequate AND undersized for our students. We need a modern, right-sized space to serve our town.
The Pollard School project is our most affordable, most efficient, and best opportunity to build a new auditorium space in Needham that meets the needs of our educational programs and will offer public benefit to the community at large.
We have an opportunity to build a right sized auditorium for our performing arts community. Let’s leverage the state’s partial funding of Pollard to our advantage and build the space our students and our community deserve – one which looks and feels like the modern auditoriums found in our peer communities. Let’s not let this opportunity to build pass us by!
What’s wrong with our current auditoriums? Auditoriums are more than just a stage and seats. See how we compare to neighboring communities below and find out more here.

It’s Time to ACT! Let’s Build an Auditorium and Community Theater that’s just right for Needham!
We don’t rebuild a school every year, so this is a chance we haven’t had in a while, and won’t have for a long time after this, if ever. On behalf of the hundreds of students who work hard in both curricular and extracurricular performing arts, I support a functional, higher quality auditorium for Pollard as part of the renovations. Every other auditorium I have been to in Massachusetts is miles ahead of ours.”
